PTU Traces of My Lipstick Tut



Supplies

Kit: The beautiful PTU kit Traces of My Lipstick by Karra's Kreative Korner
Tube: "Smooches" by Jessica Dougherty, available for purchase at CDO, please do not use without a valid license
Font: Waters Gothic or font of choice
Program of choice (this tutorial was written specifically for Photoshop users)

Don't forget to save frequently!

1. Open template, resize to 650x650 px (Alt+Ctrl+I). Then change canvas size to 600x600 px (Alt+Ctrl+C). Select all layers and reposition so that everything is visible.

2. Open KKscatter, copy and paste above Raster 1 layer. Move to the left side. Duplicate (Ctrl + J) and flip horizontally (Edit->Transform->Flip Horizontally). Move to the right side.

3. Select Raster6 layer. Open KKpaper3. Copy and paste above selected layer, right-click and select "Create Clipping Mask". Open tube, copy and paste close-up and create clipping mask. Change blend mode of tube to "Hard Light". Do the same for Raster 6.

4. Delete Raster 7 layer. Open KKframe1, resize 55%. Copy and paste to canvas. Place over the top right circle. Duplicate and flip horizontally. Place over lower left circle.

5. Select Raster 9 layer. Copy and paste KKpaper8 and create clipping mask. Copy and paste close-up of tube again. Create clipping mask. Change blend mode of tube to hard light and change opacity to 50%.

6. Select Raster 10 layer. Create new layer (Shift+Ctrl+N), floodfill with black. Use filter "Add Noise", change to around 28% with uniform distribution.

7. Select Raster 4 layer. Copy and paste KKpaper9. Create clipping mask.

8. Select Raster 5 layer. Create new layer, then use "Add Noise" filter with same properties as before.

9. Open KKribbon1, resize 70%. Copy and paste to canvas. Move to cover middle of box.

10. Select Raster 11 layer. Open, copy and paste KKpaper1 to canvas. Create clipping mask.

11. Select Raster 12 layer. Create new layer, then use "Add Noise" filter with same properties as before.

12. Open KKsparkles, copy and paste to canvas.

13. Open KKbow, resize 50%. Copy and paste to canvas. Move to upper left of rectangle. Rotate slightly (Ctrl+T, then click and drag outside of box, then enter to accept).

14. Open KKleaves, resize 40%. Move to left side of tag. Duplicate and flip vertically (Edit->Transform->Flip Vertical). Reposition below other leaves.

15. Open KKwineglass1, resize 50%. Copy and paste to canvas. Move to left side of tag.

16. Open KKflower1, resize 35%. Copy and paste to canvas. Move to left side of tag.

17. Open KKlipstick1, resize 50%. Flip horizontally. Move to left side of tag.

18. Delete Rasters 2 and 3. Open KKkiss, resize 50 percent. Position to top right of tag. Duplicate. On bottom layer, add stroke 3 px black (Right click layer then choose "Blending Options"). Right-click this layer, then choose "Convert to smart object).Right click again and choose "Rasterize Layer". Use "Add noise" filter again with same settings as before.

19. Copy and paste close-up of tube again. Reposition and use Marquee tool (looks like a rectangle with dotted lines), select the bottom part of tube that is below the bottom rectangle and delete that selection. Deselect (Ctrl-D). Duplicate layer and set blend mode to "Hard Light".

20. Open KKflower1, resize 35%. Copy and paste to canvas. Move to bottom left side of tag.

21. Open KKflower3, resize 40%. Copy and paste to canvas. Move to left side of tag. Duplicate and reposition.

22. Open KKflower2, resize 40%. Copy and paste to canvas. Move to left side of tag.

23. Open KKshoes, resize 40%. Copy and paste to canvas. Move to right side of tag.

24. Delete Rasters 13 ,14 and 15. Open KKwordart, copy and paste to canvas. Move to bottom.

25. Add name to tag, I used Waters Gothic size 22. Add stroke (2px, color #c10031). Move to right side of tag.

26. Add new layer, flood fill with black and drag layer all the way to the bottom. Add mask (I used Mask 363 by Weescotslass Creations) to layer {Press "Q" while on layer to enter quickmask selection, copy mask and paste, resize to fit canvas (Ctrl-T and then drag each side to edge of canvas, press enter to accept selection), Press "Q" again, then click on the button at the bottom of the layers that is a rectangle with a circle in the middle. Resize if needed.

26. Add your watermark, save as .png and you are finished.


*Note* I always save my tags as a .psd file in case I make mistakes and to offer to others.
